History of Volleyball
The history of volleyball is relatively young, which is very similar to a sport which originated nearby. Both the history of basketball and volleyball are said to have begun in Massachusetts in basketball in 1891 and originating in the history of volleyball in 1895.
William Morgan was a manager and director at the YMCA in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and had to invent a game that could play inside to fight the cold Northeast winters.
