If Green is so great …?

If someone out there was listening, or paying attention to the recent elections, or of the new administration talk about the importance of green technology and green job growth then I present to you a question about going green …

If the green is so great then why are we now starting to pay attention? Leaders of our nation is talking about the future with respect to technology that exists today days, and has been around for decades. It has technology that can make us a truly green nation, an international leader in conservation, and reduce and eliminate our need for foreign energy resources buried in a compound-like area 51, the government? And now the president is allowing his release in society? Ask industry entrepreneurs have been reluctant to tell anyone about their products and services until now, for some reason? Why not have heard more of our leaders and actually start this process of going green before? If the green is so great … Where is it? What is it? What need to create energy efficiently and Green?

Green Building Products

The world of products Green building has been much longer than most people might think, and the number of products available has grown in recent years. Finally, There are builders and real estate professionals who are beginning to take note and learn, and apply these green, energy efficient products. What does this for the average consumer? More efficient homes and businesses are becoming increasingly popular. Products such as products become more popular, more, new ones are making available and competition to create better, more efficient products at better prices is becoming increasingly fierce. The movement is on. For the purposes of this report, I am focusing on products that make our homes and businesses more energy efficient. Some of these products include:

  1. Structural Panels Insulated (SIP)
  2. Foam Insulation
  3. Insulation Concrete Forms (ICF)
  4. Solar Energy – Photovoltaic (PV)
  5. Wind
  6. Geothermal

These products can be used together to create some of the world's most efficient homes. If you are building, their main concern should be the creation of tighter building envelope, or shell possible, with greater protection project (tariffs more air infiltration), and the highest R-values. This can be accomplished using SIP, aerosol foam, and / or ICF. With the first step in making your building efficiently, The next step is to give the assets of the ability to create their own energy using proven technology such as solar, wind and geothermal technology.

Structural Insulated Panels

Structural Insulated Panels are a structural product used mainly in construction the building envelope, including floors, walls and ceilings, but can be used for curtain walls for added insulation if desired and sound control. It composed of 2 outer layers of oriented strand board (OSB) for structural stability, and a central layer of rigid foam material insulation. Several types of foam are available and offer different features, in particular the various R-Values per inch, vapor barrier, pest control, and fire protection.

The most common type of insulation used is expanded polystyrene (EPS). Another material used is high-density isocyanurate foam insulation, which is an advanced formula urethane. This foam is denser, gives a better R-value per inch, and offers great protection against fire. Panels with this formulation of foam are put on sale for only a few manufacturers in the country, costing more for these groups, and are more expensive for consumers. You get what you pay with insulated panels, as does everything else. These panels are higher in all respects a typical EPS core SIP.

SIP was invented more than 40 years ago and have been in limited use since then. With energy costs low and little concern for energy efficiency, consumers and builders in particular have not felt the need to introduce this "new" product customers, but customers probably would have liked last winter, when oil prices were above $ 4 a gallon, and their homes soared inefficient through oil, like old-fashioned locomotive. Solar energy (photovoltaic and solar thermal)

With a geothermal system and ductwork, you can have a central heating system and air conditioning, all with a single system. Energy Efficient Windows

My favorite example is with Windows. Your ad says something like "Quality construction with energy efficient windows," or more misleadingly, "the building energy efficient, Energy Star Windows. I'd like to go anywhere where they sell windows. Ask the salesperson if they sold all the windows are Energy Star rated windows.
