Certainly there are benefits for placement – physical location of your IT equipment (servers, switches, etc) in a data center. By taking advantage of its facilities, you can save on capital costs, streamlining its budget.

In today's market, management effective working capital is fundamental to a viable business. Data is king. Grows exponentially with time. How can you justify the expense of building new facilities or expand existing infrastructure? What is the expected return on investment (ROI)? Can the new infrastructure obsolete with the advent dynamic change in technology, or shifting organizational strategies – or a relocation of your business?

What are the major costs associated with maintaining its own data center?

Surely, your IT budget to command much of the cost of facilities management, but the cost of cooling and power are rapidly gaining ground as energy costs rise.
