i know the two bases are 5 and 7… what is the height.. answer plus work please!!
Btw if you drew this out the long base of 7 on the bottom and its leaning to the right /___/ like so and the bottom left angle is 60
Ok, so when you drop an altitude from the top left corner of the parallelogram to the bottom, you get a right triangle. It just turns out that it is a 30 60 90 degrees right triangle. The relationship between the sides in this special triangle is that the side opposite the 30 degree angle is x, the side opposite the 60 degree angle x * radical 3 and the hypotenuse 2x. since the hypotenuse in this problem is 5, the side opposite the 30 degree angle is 2.5. Thus, the side opposite the 60 degree angle (the altitude and the height of the parallelogram) is 2.5*radical 3.
