Lacrosse Australia's history reveals that Women also played an important role in the success of sport in the region. The year 1962 marked the opening of Women's Lacrosse Australia Board or AWLC. The organization aimed to promote women's lacrosse and standardized rules and specifications.

In 2004, a tournament of all men lacrosse "Australia Lacrosse League (ALL) was launched. ALL is challenged by three states: Victoria South Australia and Western Australia. The ultimate goal of all for all states participating in the league has not yet been achieved.
