Heightmap Brushes for Photoshop?

Does anyone know of a brush collection for Photoshop that can be used to make heightmaps? Like a set of brushes so you can place mountains and hills over a map to create the grayscale heightmap fairly easily and in a controlled manner?

That’s the first such request I’ve heard of.

Without downloading anything, the default soft brushes could work. Using layers (with blending modes) and airbrush mode should help. Doing a web search does turn up some random handmade brush sets.

You can also try searching for ‘digital elevation model’ data, which are basically heightmaps created from real-world data:

Back when I was interested in the topic, I was fiddling with tools like Planetside Terragen (which uses fractals if I remember correctly), and whatever happened to be in the world editors for games I played (like UT2004).

Since you found this site, I assume you are interested in gaining a few extra inches of height. Although (if you’re a mature adult) this may sound like a pipe dream, I assure you that it is easier than you think! We’ve all been taught that height is mostly out of our control, that it’s largely determined by genetics. I’m here to tell you that there is more to the story. Of course our gene pool has a lot to do with ones height, but it is definitely not the only factor. Your state of emotion, your exercise regimen, the food you eat, and the hours you sleep are all factors in height determination. Click here to read the rest of the article: Free Height Enhancement
