I need to know the standard height of a basketball hoop.?
My daughter is 9 and I'm thinking of setting one for your home for Christmas.
10 feet 0 inches height is standard on almost all programs of professional basketball through the children. The possible exception is some youth leagues children use lowered baskets. For 9 year old daughter could get an adjustable ring, but I would suggest staying with 10 feet, unless she has the strength to get the ball that high. When my daughter started (CYO League) in the 4th grade, almost all girls can face the basket from 10 feet.

Although (if you’re a mature adult) this may sound like a pipe dream, I assure you that it is easier than you think! We’ve all been taught that height is mostly out of our control, that it’s largely determined by genetics. I’m here to tell you that there is more to the story. Of course our gene pool has a lot to do with ones height, but it is definitely not the only factor.
