please help me with this math problem and / or physical?
I need help finding a very bad initial vertical speed in feet per second using the formula H (t) =- 16t squared + Vot + Ho flight time is 4.18 seconds, the initial height is 96 inches from the ball was thrown into the air until fell to the floor Note: the height of the ball is zero feet when the ball hits the ground, I do not understand how to find the initial vertical velocity, can someone please help me the only variable I need is help in finding the initial speed, thanks. AndAlso someone can help me get my calculator using y1 and y2
H (t) =- 16t ^ 2 + Vot + Ho thing to realize is that after 4.18 seconds, the ballwill be on the ground and its height is equal to zero. Therefore H (4.18) = 16 (4.18) Vo ^ 2 + (4.18) + Ho = 0 Substituting 96/12 = 8 feet of Ho we -16 (4.18) ^ 2 4.18 + 8 = 0 Vo So Vo = [16 (4.18) ^ 2-8] / 4.18 Hope this helped.
